29 Sep 08 Assignment 1

Assignment1 is to get each other known, you and your tutor. There is a questionnaire to fill in and to send some of your recent photo work to see what your state of play is, plus some questions on the first lesson to see if you understand the text.

The reaction I got back from my tutor, John Wade, was very pleasant with a little background about him and some remarks on my work (composition, Colour, Exposure and some general remarks).

From now on it is about how to sell and shoot for selling.

23 Sep 08 The course materials have arrived

Yesterday the course materials from the BFP have arrived. Two very nice binders with 16 lesson printed on high quality paper, nicely arranged in tabs. All-in-all a professional presentation of the course materials.

This is not the “normal” photography course as you would expect and the first thing you will see is that they go over the basic photo techniques is a ver quick way, more a refresher then what you would expect in a photography course. But we need to keep in mind that this is a photo freelance course and that there is an expectation that you know how to take photos! In this course they will teach you how to take photos you can sell and with that make money.

I find it a very refreshing approach BUT it is not for the very beginners, you must be able to take a reasonable picture and be motivated to start selling them.

We will embark together on this journey.
