As a photographer you will need to have some knowledge about the legal side of photography, copyrights, model releases, tax you named it. Searching on this through the Internet I came across a little gem on this. a book written by Carolyn Wright, the Photo Attorny. It is US based but very useful for the rest of the world as well. You can read more on the Photo Attorny page of the photo student website.

Well this is not a course for the fainthearted! The first assignment put you right on the spot. The task is to take photos of a restaurant, easy when you read the assignment in the book, but the tutor tells it a little different. You have to contact the restaurant owner/ manager and get access to the whole restaurant, kitchen included and sell the restaurant through your pictures. They expect a very professional approach on this.
This means that my week is set. Tonight I am visiting some restaurants and see if I can get in and make an appointment for a photoshoot, which will take probably, as I see now, 1 to 1.5 hour. Tomorrow I will tell you how I got on.
If you are reading this and you are a student of this course then please visit the forum and discuss the assignments with me and other to come. I am very interested in you approach and how you have dealt with this.
Happy shooting
